Yes, Boston sports fans have reason to be snarky in the 21st Century, but Beantown (which no Bostonian would ever say, incidentally) also has a rich musical history, dating long before Woody Guthrie sang about his wooden leg (look it up). I've tried to cull together some favorites from the Boston area (including Providence and central Massachusetts) that I'm hoping will be a combination of the familiar and the obscure.

Here's a quick rundown of the playlist:
  1. Shot Down (Barrence Whitfield & the Savages)
  2. Junkyard (Treat Her Right)
  3. The Night (Morphine)
  4. Even Though You're Gone (Margaret Garrett)
  5. Brand New Vein (Come)
  6. 5 Listens (The Difference Engine)
  7. Marigold Girl (The Curtain Society)
  8. Park the Car by the Side of the Road (The Swirlies)
  9. Feel Good Ending (The Beatings)
  10. Something's Wrong (Magic Shoppe)
  11. Spinning Around (Crystallized Movements)
  12. Pennsylvania (The Red Telephone)
  13. Easy (Deer Tick)
  14. 6 (The Neats)
  15. Prefab Sun (Prefab Messiahs)
  16. Flashlight (Fuzzy)
  17. Searching For The Light (The Brother Kite)
  18. Hey Hey You Say (Papas Fritas)
Yes, it's the combination of bluesy rock, noisy pop and indie confection you've come to expect and dread from me. And it's coming soon to a mailbox near you.
